Banks see travel insurance increase

Consumers looking for travel insurance are increasingly going to their current account companies to find it, according to a brand new survey from YouGov SixthSense.
Comprehensive travel insurance has recently seen its profile within the public consciousness boost dramatically, due largely to the unprecedented volcanic disruption to airlines and kept in the public eye by industrial action.
Lots of travellers ended up not becoming covered for the costs involved using the Icelandic volcano, and consumers are now additional careful and aware of the importance of acquiring adequate coverage when travelling.
Statistics reveal that travel insurance is the probably insurance category to have been cancelled within the last two years, with two-thirds undertaking so in the course of the recession.
Cost isn’t the primary cause of cancellation on the other hand, with only 23% citing it as the cause compared to 69% who indicated the reason was associated to cover.
